Meet Kris Bundy, Medical Receptionist!

Kris Bundy, from Sport & Spine, at Yellowstone National Park with her family.

Name: Kris Bundy

Clinic Location: Wittenberg, Wisconsin
Title: Medical Receptionist

Kris is the smiling face that greets you when you first walk in the doors of Sport & Spine in Wittenberg, WI. Raised in the Home of the Hodag. Rhinelander, WI, Kris is a transplant to the Hatley area. While a patient of Sport Spine, Kris saw there was an opening in the Wittenberg office and eagerly applied. Kris loved the organization as a patient and was excited to work in a fun, friendly, and fast-paced clinic.

JB: Thank you for taking the time to chat, Kris! It’s always a joy coming by your clinic and chatting with you. I’m excited to learn more about you and your background. First off, can you give us a rundown of what you all handle at Sport & Spine?

Kris: I handle the scheduling, insurance, referrals, and paperwork for Sport & Spine. I also make it my mission to make sure you are happy you chose Sport & Spine when you walk in the door and when you walk out.

JB: Where did you go to school?

Kris: I went to school at UWGB & Nicolet Technical College, graduating with a degree in Business Management.

JB: What do you like most about your work in the physical therapy space?

Kris: I enjoy meeting, greeting, and visiting with the patients. Our location is such a wonderful area and the office literally feels like time with friends when patients are waiting in the reception area.

JB: What is one thing you wish everyone knew more about physical therapy?

Kris: Everyone should know more about the importance of doing their therapy (HEP) are home as well. Coming to therapy and visiting with us is WONDERFUL, but the vital part of PT is a continuation of your exercises and stretches when you leave our office.

JB: What do you like to do in your free time?

Kris: I love spending time with my husband John, 4 dogs (Ava, Lucy, Scarlet, and Brooklyn), and (when we are lucky enough to have him home from school) our son-Colton. I love to garden, sit on the boat and fish….regardless if the fish are biting or not. I also enjoy to travel… as close as LaCrosse to see our son or out West to see the mountains. We have our 4 dogs and I love to spend time watching my girls bird hunt and play. You can also find me curled up with my girls (dogs) watching a good movie, or spending time with my family catching up and laughing. Enjoying life! I am also an independent consultant for Thirty-One and love to share our great products with everyone!

JB: What is your favorite fictional character?

Kris: Mary Poppins. It has always been one of my favorite musicals and I love the story of the family dynamic.

JB: How do you celebrate a win or a good day?

Any GOOD day is ended relaxing by a campfire, playing with the dogs, or just chilling at home.

JB: Do you have any favorite local spots you’re willing to share with us?

Kris: We frequently check out the local spots in the Wittenberg/Birnamwood/Eland/Hatley area. Rachel’s is one of our favorites, but we always love to change it up and check out other places between the clinic and home.

JB: What is your favorite sports team? Favorite color? Sweet or salty? Coffee or tea? Beach or mountains?

Kris: I’m a BIG Badgers fan (Go Bucky!).

JB: What is your favorite sports team? Favorite color? Sweet or salty? Coffee or tea? Beach or mountains?

Kris: I love lots of color! When I was younger, each of my bedroom walls were a different color. My favorites are pink and purple.

JB:  Rapid fire – sweet or salty? Coffee or tea? Beach or mountains?

Kris: Sweet AND salty… they go great together! Coffee with LOTS of creamer. It used to be the beach, but after traveling to Yellowstone National Park this summer, the mountains now win.

JB: Stay in or go out?

Kris: Stay in! I would rather sit on my patio and enjoy nature than be in a crowded area.

JB: Why do you like working at Sport & Spine?

Kris: I like meeting the people of Wittenberg and the surrounding areas. With the fact that I have been at this location for more than 3 years now, I have seen some of the same patients for multiple reasons. I have watched kids grow up, celebrated births, graduations, and weddings with patients; and have even mourned with patients.

JB: What is your favorite quote?

Kris: Always believe in you…. I do! 🙂

JB: Are you involved in any organizations?

Kris: I am involved with the American Cancer Society/CPS-3 Study Group.

JB: What is the culture like in your clinic?

Kris: Our clinic is fun, with a family like atmosphere. All employees care for the patient’s physical needs and enjoy to get to know them on a personal level as well.

JB: Do you have any local businesses to recommend?

Kris: We love to check out all the local establishments in the area, especially now that so many of them have gluten free options. We go to Rachel’s so often that they recognize us when we walk in. However, Pike Lake and Tavern Front are also some of our favorites, and we love to go to Truck’s and the Wittenberg Family Restaurant in the mornings.

JB: Thanks for taking the time to chat with me today. The atmosphere here is always so positive and it’s fun to just stop by and visit with your crew.
